Updated: Dec 28, 2023

Trip to Hitchin Lavender Field
Hitchin Lavender Field

Who don’t love flowers? I love them! We are visiting a purple beauty today, YES! It’s a trip to a beautiful lavender field in Hitchin, UK. Hitchin is a market town in the North Hertfordshire district in Hertfordshire, England, with an estimated population of 33,350. I’m really excited about our todays trip, come with me and explore this beautiful lavender field.

This lavender farm attraction is close to both London and Cambridge. I live in Watford, part of greater London. To reach the Hitchin field you can take bus, train or private cabs. We took bus from Watford to Luton (bus no 321) and from there to Hitchin town center (Bus no 100). From Hitchin High street its approximately 10min drive to the field. There is bus available (No 9) but we opted for Uber!

I was completely overwhelmed to see the beauty of the field WOW! No words guys. As you enter you can find the display field, where the entry is free. Then comes the main attraction, that the long field of lavenders! Its approximately 35 miles of lavender rows and you can literarily walk there! Isn’t that interesting? Before the visit make sure you book your tickets online as you cannot buy the tickets onsite. It costs £7 on peak time, Off Peak: £6, Disabled: £4, Family of 4: £25, Family of 6: £36, Under 5's: Free of charge. This field is open to visit from mid-June to August (These are the flowering season). Plan your trip accordingly.

The field was very beautiful and nature looked awesome. As I entered the main field the rain started, it was unexpected! Well we waited for some time but there was no sign of rain stopping so I decided to visit the field in rain. We did not had umbrella so Gaurav did not enter the field but I enjoyed even in the rain. Took some beautiful pictures and great videos. You have small shop near the field where you can get hot coffee, pastries, cakes and lavender oils. We purchase some lavender oils which smells great. The field is also equipped with portable toilets so not to worry. It’s a great spot for family picnic and to enjoy the nature.
