Winter Wonders of Manali!

Top five places to visit in Manali during winter

Manali is one of the top travel destinations in India. It is nestled in the mountains of the Indian state Himachal Pradesh.

Get around

Most common is taxi which cost around 1700₹ per day or little more (in peak seasons). Second most common way is to hire motor bikes and the price hover around 900-1500₹ per day. Public transports are not so good but they are very cheap (I personally don’t recommend).

Places to visit

Solang Valley

Solang Valley is located about 30 minutes from Manali and on the way to Rohtang Pass. Manali attracts travelers both in winter and summer for snow and adventure sports. Skiing in winter and paragliding in summer are some of the popular activities in Solang Valley. Rohtang Pass usually closed during winter and people visit Solang Valley instead

Beas River

The Beas River is a river in North India. It is one of the main attractions in Manali. During winter the rocks covered with snow on the river banks is a picture square view.

Hadimba Temple

It is an ancient cave temple dedicated to goddess Hadima, the wife of Bhīma from the Hindu epic The Mahabharata.

Tibetan Monastery

The monastery is situated near the Mall road in Manali. The place was calm and peaceful, we had a great time. Handicrafts of Tibetan artistry and the carpets that are woven and sold in monastery.

Mall Road

It is the main street in Manali. Mall road has shops restaurants and cafes. Mall Road has something for everyone. Shop till you drop at Mall Road. Don’t forget to buy shawls, jewellery and Tibetan handicraft

Budget Stay

During winter if you want to experience the nature do not stay near Mall Road. Hilltop hotels will be best suited to stay close to nature and it will make your stay extraordinary. My personal recommendation is Aastha Cottage, Manali for those who are overlooking for natural ambiance, snow covered mountains, along with best services (and yummy Aloo Paratha!!!)
